Next series of OECE Training events for partners starts in October

OECE Training events are back! Open-E offers partners the opportunity to become an Open-E Certified Engineer (OECE). During a two day training session, engineers get a chance to obtain skills necessary to implement Open-E products in IT-environments. As always, this is a great learning opportunity for partners and their engineers.

    Open-E training

This year, the trainings take place in Germany, Netherlands, UK and US. Open-E will offer engineers a chance to gain hands-on skills and knowledge about our products and how to work with them. Strongly covered will be Open-E DSS V7, as well as the iSCSI Active-Active Automatic Failover functionality.

During the first day, our highly experienced technical trainers will provide detailed presentations and lots of practical examples with lab work. On the second day, participants will have time for Q&A and will be tested with a theoretical and practical exam to show their newly acquired knowledge and skills. After successfully passing the exam, every Open-E Certified engineer will receive the OECE official Certificate and according material to promote the newly obtained title.

The Open-E Certified Engineer certification verifies the ability of engineers to work smoothly with our storage software – Open-E DSS V7 – especially Volume Snapshots, Backups, Replications and Failovers.  After the training session, an OECE will have comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with our software and can implement Open-E DSS V7 in any storage environment with ease.

    Topics to be covered:

    • Installing Open-E DSS V7 (as a VM, RAID and Flash Stick)
    • Auto Failover – Active-Active with Open-E DSS V7 (iSCSI) and Active-Passive with Open-E DSS V6 (NFS)
    • Data Replication
    • Snapshots and Backup
    • Multipath vs. Bonding & MPIO with VMware and Windows
    • Auto Failover Active-Active with Open-E DSS V7 (iSCSI) – Zero-single-Point-of-Failure setup and best practices
    • Understanding Logs
